£975 +VATDelegates will build on skills gained in Part 1 and feel confident to build upon their ability to diagnose and fix routine mechanical faults. Successful completion of this training course will mean they candidate has passed a range of practical competence assessments and a written assessment covering knowledge and understanding. This will enable the participants to carry out specific mechanical tasks back in the workplace with some initial ‘on-job’ support.

What will I learn?
The 8-day programme is delivered as two 4-day courses, and will focus on:
- Understanding the importance of Health and Safety relevant to the safe conduct of mechanical tasks
- Bench fitting
- Drilling/tapping
- Types of power transmission
- Gear and gearbox characteristics
- Angular joints and fluid couplings
- Clutches
- Uses of Seals
- Static and dynamic type materials and uses
- Methods of installation
- Lubrication
- Application and selection of grades
Following completion of this course, we recommend skills learnt are practised in the workplace until a proficient standard is achieved. Candidates can then be signed-off as competent to carry out the prescribed tasks.
