GW Pharmaceuticals is a real success story with a spectacular and continued growth rate reported over the last few years.

A world-leading organisation

During this time, GW Pharmaceuticals has established its position as a world-leading organisation in the development of plant-derived cannabinoid therapeutics. This has been delivered through its proven drug discovery and development processes, intellectual property portfolio and regulatory and manufacturing expertise.

GW Pharmaceuticals is committed to developing new medicines to treat rare, treatment-resistant epilepsy conditions where there are limited or in some cases, no approved treatment options. They have developed an oral formulation of purified cannabidiol (CBD) which has been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration for two rare and severe early-onset, drug-resistant epilepsy syndromes.

Martin Wilby and Suzanne Sharp, GW Pharmaceutical, attended the Maintenance Planning & Scheduling course which was held on-site at the company’s offices in Kent Science Park, Sittingbourne.

Martin oversees the purchase and storage/supply of maintenance componentry. Sue oversees the planning and scheduling of the maintenance function across the entire group including organising and controlling contractors.

Result focused trainer

The course was run by Ron Lucas, MCP’s Consultant & Trainer. He is a results-focused and commercially orientated Continuous Improvement facilitator with well-proven operations and technical project management skills.

After the course, MCP was delighted to report that delegates both passed the Maintenance Planning & Scheduling 2-day course with flying colours. As a result, the training planning continues with more programmes booked later this year.
