Vacancies – Business Development Manager

Job Description

MCP Consulting Group (MCP) is renowned for excellence and innovation within the Maintenance and Asset Management Consulting & Training Services industry and are seeking a Business Development Manager responsible for the North of England (Lancashire, Yorkshire and North East).

The successful candidate will be responsible for selling Consultancy Services and Technical Training programmes to engineering and maintenance organisations. This role may be suited to an individual who has prior experience as a consultant, although this is not essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To drive sales of consultancy services (70% of role) and training products (30% of role)
  • To develop sales plans to achieve budgets and targets
  • To develop and agree on annual sales strategy, marketing budgets and campaigns
  • To build strong relationships with target clients, submitting and converting robust proposals

You will have:

  • Credible experience in ‘consultative selling’ with a background in selling professional services i.e. legal, finance etc
  • Experience in building relationships within Engineering, HR & Training functions, particularly within large corporate environments at the middle-management level
  • Passion in supporting businesses to improve their performance through the identification of tailored consulting solutions (i.e. criticality studies)
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and prioritise work effectively in order to meet deadlines
  • Excellent IT skills
  • A full driving licence as frequent travel will be required as part of the role.

Salary & Benefits

  • A basic salary of £35,000k per annum
  • A performance-related bonus of up to 100% of salary
  • Car allowance of £300 per month
  • Pension

Vacancies – Asset Management & Maintenance Consultants

You will have:

  • A desirable minimum of 5 years’ experience of implementing successful improvement programmes, with a strong focus on maintenance & reliability in an industry site
  • Excellent IT skills, particularly MS Excel with strong analytical skills
  • Ability to prepare compelling client reports
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact fluently at all levels of the organisation
  • Degree qualified and Chartered status are highly desirable

You will deliver:

  • High-value consultancy and training on client sites in the UK, Europe and the Middle East
  • Shop-floor and classroom-based consultancy and training
  • Operational performance improvement projects
  • Measurable value to our client companies
  • Coaching and mentoring client teams
  • A high level of client relationships management

You will demonstrate:

  • Expert knowledge of Asset Management, Maintenance Planning and all things Reliability
  • Highly skilled and expert report writing for clients
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A clear appreciation of the importance of delivering value to clients
  • Ability to engage directly and communicate effectively at all levels
  • Possess highly developed listening, influencing and management skills
  • A highly motivated and flexible approach; a significant amount of travel to client sites within the UK and worldwide is required
