Peter Gagg – Director and General Manager
Peter acquired MCP in 1991 with Richard Jones after working in sales, operations and engineering for organisations worldwide. Experienced in Asset Management, Maintenance and Manufacturing, Peter has been working for over 25 years with clients in pharmaceuticals, chemical, power, food and drink, automotive, transport and facilities management across the world. Peter’s recent client work includes implementation of best practice in Manufacturing, Maintenance, Asset Management and Facilities Management with clients such as Norland Managed Services, Johnson & Johnson, Dubai Airports, GlaxoSmithKline and BSkyB.
Peter has a Masters degree in Polymer Engineering and is a Fellow of the Institute of Consulting.
Richard Jones – Director
Richard acquired MCP in 1991 with Peter Gagg after a successful international career with senior management positions in various sectors including Metals, Oil & Gas, Projects, Manufacturing and Facilities. Richard served as a short service commissioned officer in the Royal Navy, specialising in weapons systems and training. Richard has wide experience in engineering management, gained in heavy engineering industries worldwide. His management roles have been concerned with feasibility studies, project engineering, engineering design and maintenance. His recent client work includes:
- Maintenance improvement projects for engineering, food and pharmaceutical
- Development and implementation of manufacturing strategy for an automotive client
- Development of MCP’s approach to Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)
- Project Management of oil platform construction and new factory build situations
Richard is a Chartered Engineer, a Fellow of the Institute of Consulting and Member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology and Institute of Asset Management.
Philip Tugwell – Head of Manufacturing
Philip joined MCP in 2001 following a successful career in the brewing, FMCG and automotive industries. Within MCP Philip specialises in manufacturing, operations and lean activities and has delivered improvement programmes across Europe, Asia and the US for a number of major national and international clients in a diverse range of industries.
A certified management consultant and a Fellow of the Institute of Consulting Phil has a BA honors’ degree in Management Science and an MSc in Manufacturing Systems; Engineering and Management.
Ian Higham – Head of Maintenance
Ian joined MCP in 1997. He has wide engineering experience in facilities management, maintenance improvement and management consulting. His area of expertise includes:
- Review of facilities organisation and maintenance for corporate headquarters
- Support for mobilisation for contractors for facilities management for the MOD
- Implementation of systems and methods for buildings maintenance
- Management of facilities contractors
- Development of IT for outsourcing
- Successful selection and implementation of CMMS, and the key management functions supported by the system, in several industry sectors.
A member of the Institute of Management Consultancy and the Institution of Engineering and Technology, Ian was educated in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
Peter Jackson – Senior Consultant
Peter joined MCP in 1994. Specialising in maintenance best practice, Peter’s consultancy work has led to involvement in the UK and around the globe, visiting client sites in Russia, Poland, Czech Republic, Malaysia, Singapore, India, USA and Puerto Rico. Peter’s experience covers both manufacturing and asset management, including being part of the project team developing PAS 55. Peter is also the lead consultant for MCP’s range of Maintenance Training Programmes.
A member of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers, Peter has a BA honours degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Diploma in Management Studies.
John Saysell - Head of Technical Training & Business Development
John joined MCP in 2004. John has been working with customers for over 15 years, developing training programmes, assessments and associated consultancy. Customers nurtured and maintained include Astra Zeneca, United Biscuits, GlaxoSmithKline, Mars, Johnson Controls, Heineken, Jaguar Landrover and Mondelez.
John has a Mechanical Engineering degree, is a Chartered Engineer and member of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers, he also completed a technical apprenticeship at British Rail Engineering Limited.
Celia Cionnagh – Head of Operations
Celia has extensive experience delivering a range of training programmes for both the public and private sectors. Celia’s training assignments have included developing and delivering customised Train the Trainer and ILM/CMI Management Development programmes for the UK’s leading blue chip organisations. An experienced quality manager and Internal Verifer, Celia has worked with a number of training providers assessing both academic training and vocational learning programmes. Celia has a BA honours degree in English from Cardiff University, a PGCE from Birmingham University and Learning and Development and Management NVQs at Level 4.
Colin Wright – Training Manager
Colin is an experienced professional trainer and assessor in the design and delivery of electrical and health and safety training. Colin has considerable practical experience in the electrical engineering industry. Colin’s recent work with clients has included leading the technical training programme as part of Dubai Airports Engineering Change strategy and delivering training to clients such as Carlsberg, Royal Mail, BAA, United Biscuits and Heathrow Airport. Colin is a member of the Institute of Safety and Health
Roy Davis – Senior Consultant
Roy has considerable experience of manufacturing systems and processes, industrial plant and machinery design, manufacture, installation, operation and maintenance for manufacturing businesses across a wide range of industry sectors. His areas of expertise include: Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Continuous Improvement maintenance programmes and Operator Asset Care. Roy has published several papers on Reliability Centered Maintenance and Total Productive Maintenance
Roy is a Chartered Engineer and member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers
Sarah James – Marketing Executive
Sarah is Marketing Executive at MCP. She is responsible for the company’s marketing and communications activities, including event management, direct marketing, advertising and research. Prior to joining MCP in 2007, Sarah worked in marketing and communications for a variety of companies, including an international IT Company and a Utilities organisation. Sarah has a BA honours degree in communication from Coventry University and a marketing certificate from the University of Wales.
